Kibby Mountain Wind Project

132 megawatts altogether, made up of 44 wind turbines each having 3 Megawatts of power.
Noteworthy: 

http://www.maineaudubon.org/news/c070605_kibby.shtml, The project received the support of the environmental group NRCM (Maine Audubon and the Appalachian Mountain Club), they made arrangements with transcanada to have conservation arrangements and to fund new wildlife studies. Transcanada agreed to conduct studies of bird mortality and share results with environmental groups, also they agreed to contribute $500,000 to permanent conservation of 750 acres habitat in Maine's Mahoosuc Mountain range.

Impact: 

The project will provide enough electricity for 50,00 Maine homes.

Future Plans: 

When in operation the protect will be the largest wind power project in Maine.

Funding: 

The total funding for the project is about $270 million.

The Kibby Wind Power Project will be the largest wind power development in New England, providing enough clean, renewable electricity for the equivalent of 50,000 average Maine homes. The wind farm will be located along Kibby Mountain and Kibby Range in the Boundary Mountains of Maine. The Kibby Wind Power Project will be capable of producing 132 megawatts of electricity.A 115 kilovolt line would extend approximately 25 miles from the proposed substation below the ridge lines in Kibby Township, to an existing substation in the Bigelow area of Maine.
