Beaver Ridge Wind Project

Capacity: 
3 wind turbines of 4.5 megawatts, each wind turbine makes up energy of 1.5 megawatts
Noteworthy: 

Beaver Ridge wind is Maine's second commercial wind farm and te first in the Central Maine Power Company service territory.

Future Plans: 

The three turbines produce enough electricity to power 2,000 homes, and prevent annual release of 4,825 tons of carbon dioxide, 5.5 tons of sulfur, 6 tons of nitrogen dioxide, and half an ounce of mercury.

The Beaver Ridge Wind Project began commercial operation on November 1, 2008. In late, 2007, Patriot Renewables (a wind development group owned by Boston construction contractor Jay Cashman) acquired a majority interest in the project and completed the final development, design, and construction of the 4.5-MW project.
